SoCal Maker Con

This is the wrap-up to Fall Events Week.

It’s the last episode of Fall Events Week and we want to let everybody know about an upcoming event where you’re going to be speaking.

I’m excited about it. It’s going to be a fun event. It’s one of those maker events. It’s SoCal MakerCon. Maker event is a little bit different than a 3D printing show because it has CNC, robotics, and drones. There’s a lot more going on and it’s focused more on the creators.

This event from our experience is heavily 3D printing-oriented.

It’s easily 3/4 3D printing. I’m excited about it. We’re going to do more than just me speak. I’m going to speak and answer questions and things like that and I’m going to talk about making profits or makers making profits. I haven’t decided what the title is, but it’s something in that realm.

It’s focused on those that want to make money involving or using 3D printing.

It’s all about what to make and how to make it profitable and what resources to use. 3D printing can make any garage into a factory and so can CNC or any of those other things that are out there that these makers are using. I think that because you’ve got to scale and you’ve got an idea and maybe you have a great little product, it doesn’t always make it easy to make a profit. That’s what I want to talk to you and help some of these makers understand how to set up your shop and tag your items and do some of these things that will make it more profitable for them.

Beyond that, we’re going to be there all day at that event and doing on-location interviews for our show and even a live event.

We’re going to do a live record, a Periscope as well as the live record that will then load up onto the show immediately. You’ll get it right after we record it. There’s no way to stream straight into the show but we will be putting it up on Periscope and recording it live, which is different because you all get us edited on occasion. You’ll hear me misstep and say things like sled and raft and dumb stuff like that and Tom always makes fun of me. There might be a little more of that going on, but we’ll see. That will be fun. We haven’t done that in a while. We’re also going to be doing live spot interviews. We’re going to interview some people that are at the show. Both people who are makers and coming to the show as well as people who are having booze there. We’re going to have a lot more interviews in the future for that as well.

We’re definitely going to take advantage of a lot of high-level people and a lot of different companies being in one place all day.

WTF 092 | SoCal Maker Con

SoCal Maker Con: Just because you got an eye, an idea, and maybe a great little product, that doesn’t always make it easy to make profit.

It will be a full video cast. We’ll do some video as well.

Any of you that are in Southern California or anywhere from San Diego to the north of LA before you get into that vast divide to San Francisco, it’s within your local tribe and reach.

It’s in Pomona so it’s a little more on the Riverside side of LA, but it’s easy to get to. It wasn’t hard last time and it was fun. I had a good time. There were drone fights and robotic contests. There was a whole bunch of fun things that happened and there was a great lineup of speakers.

It looks like another great lineup this year as well.

If you’re interested in that, you can go to SoCalMakerCon.com and you can find out more information about that.

We hope you’ll come out and see us and participate in a lot of the things going on that day.

If you have an event and you want us to come to talk or do a Q&A session, we’d love to do that. Let us know what’s going on in your area that you’d like us to participate too. If we can do it in person, we will, but if not, maybe we can always do it over a Google Hangout. Keep in touch with us on our website. Everywhere on social media, we’re @HazzDesign.

I hope you’ve enjoyed Fall Events Week with us. We’ve certainly had a lot of great conversations. We had a great interview.

You can go to these events and let us know how they were. If they were great, we want to hear about it. If they were bad, we want to hear about that too. We may have to cover that.

Thanks for reading and we’ll talk to you next time.
