3D Print Gifts for Moms – Any Good Designs?

By Tracy and Tom Hazzard

See our picks for the best last minute 3D Print Gifts to download and print for Mom!

Cults3D | 3D Print Gifts for Mother's DayStumped for a Mother’s Day gift this year? We’ve taken care some of the hunting required to find good 3D Print Gifts for you. Keep in mind that all of our recommendations are download-to-print 3D Print Gifts because face it, you waited until the last minute, but there are also sites like Shapeways and i.Materialise where there might still be time to rush delivery on a print for some of their 3D Print Gifts.

Cults3D –

Our top 3D Print Gifts to download for Mother’s Day come from here. Why? Because this site does a great job of curating good artists and designers who provide quality content. Most of the 3D Print Gifts you will find have been successfully printed. Our favorites are from the Jewelry & Home Categories, like the bracelet above and the vases and others 3D Print gifts below. Skip the Fashion section though – trust us – too geeky for mom and no one really wants to wear 3D Print plastic shoes!

Tracy’s Tip – If you choose a vase to print, make sure to buy flowers too! Tulips are always a good choice and roses are classics. Also, most 3D Print vases will leak if you don’t put a glass vase liner inside of it. Make sure yours will fit before you print.

Pinshape –

Pinshape has a couple of nice featured sections where they highlight a designer and the staff posts their picks. These sections usually hold some of the gems for 3D Print gifts. But we’ve also picked a few of our favorites from the Jewelry and Home sections as well.

We found it too frustrating searching on Thingiverse, YouMagine and Cubify for quality designs and couldn’t even find one acceptable item. But, if you know what type of gift you want to print for mom and are just looking for the right file, try Yeggi – a search engine for 3D Print design files. It will search through those sites for you without making you sift through all the geeky junk.

Note from Tracy – It doesn’t matter how old you are, giving your mom something personally made is always a hit. It really is the thought that counts along with spending a little time doing something nice for the woman who is always putting you first.

Happy Mother’s Day to our Moms!
